This hotel was the highlight of our trip to Spain (also, the only hotel we were able to pick out as it was mostly a business trip). It’s a very hip/trendy hotel that sports a very central locale. Only a few blocks walk in any direction to Plaza Mayor, the Prado and other museums, subway, etc. Lots of eating options right outside the hotel.
Our room was a Supreme room on the fourth floor with french windows that opened to a view of the plaza. We were a little concerned about noise since the area gets very busy at night, but the windows did a good job of blocking it out. Some low grade noise seeped through but we were able to sleep fine. The room was not huge but well laid out with a long desk built into one wall. Bed is wonderful and comfy with duvet covers that are washed. The room had some funky lighting options like purple lighting over the bed. Bathroom is stocked with Aveda products. No bathtub, but the shower has multiple sprayheads. The shower door did not shut well and water did leak onto the floor while showering.
There is a very popular rooftop lounge atop the hotel. Guests of the hotel get exclusive access via elevator and don’t have to wait in line/get scrutinized by the bouncers. The drinks are expensive (we’re talking $15-20 for a cocktail) but it’s a cool place to hang and sip and enjoy the views.
Would We Stay Here Again? Yes
- View of Plaza Santa Ana from our window.
